Temperature Variations, Periods
Scientific paper
Superposing and averaging two series of data produced by two periodic sources, the 18.61-year lunar nodal cycle and the ~23.5-yr double cycle of the terrestrial orbit eccentricity about the solar system barycentre, we get a 21-yr periodic source. Its trend strongly corresponds to the trend (periodic and shape) of the mean annual temperature variations registered by a meteorological centre in northern Italy since 1930. The points of maximal amplitude of the 18.61-yr sinusoidal trend correspond to the maximal lunar declination dates. The points of maximal amplitude of the sinusoidal path of the ~23.5-yr source correspond to the years when the lowest eccentricity of the terrestrial orbit occurred: 1925, 1936, 1949, 1961, 1972, 1985, 1995, 2008.
