Variations of mean diurnal values of solar wind velocity in earth orbit during January-September 1979 are analyzed. It is shown that, in solar wind streams formed near the sector boundaries, the velocity depends on the solar radio flux at 10.7 cm. In streams formed inside the sectors, however, the velocity depends on the magnetic field strength but is independent of the radio emission flux in the source region.
