The transport of track parameters and their associated errors to surfaces within the detector is a very frequent process in the event reconstruction of high energy experiments. Track predictions are necessary for various pattern recognition algorithms and the transport of track parameter errors is essential for most of the track fitting techniques that, in general, rely on the first and second momentum of the underlying probability distribution. The realization of the newly developed track extrapolation engine for the ATLAS experiment and its specific property of a dedicated connective reconstruction geometry providing fast navigation and access to material and magnetic field information is presented in this paper.
