Analytical data on 24 representative samples from the Northern Chilean
"Andesite" Formation are presented for major elements and for Ba, Co,
Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Rb, Sc, Sr, Ti, V, Y and Zr. Comparison is made with the
Northern Chilean Rhyolite Formation and it is suggested that both
volcanic episodes are due to fusion of crustal material.
