We are developing GenASiS (General Astrophysical Simulation System) to study the explosion mechanism of core-collapse supernovae. Our plan is to include all the relevant physics---including magnetohydrodynamics, gravity, and energy- and angle-dependent neutrino transport---in a code with adaptive mesh refinement in two and three spatial dimensions.
This work was performed under the auspices of the TeraScale Supernova Initiative, funded by SciDAC grants from the DOE Office of Science High-Energy, Nuclear, and Advanced Scientific Computing Research Programs.
