Previous IUE observations have established that broad emission lines in Seyfert galaxies vary on time scales of weeks to months, and that both the Intensity and the profiles of these lines participate in the variations. Since the profiles are a record of the kinematic behavior of the emitting gas, a study of their time variability has great potential for revealing the dynamics of the emitting gas In the nuclear region. Only the most meager information about profile variability can be obtained if the individual images are noisy or if only a few good spectra are available for a given object, and this is unfortunately true in most cases. We propose to obtain additional long-exposure, pdeudotralled IUE Images of the brightest and most variable Seyfert i galaxies for continuing analysis of the physical nature of their nuclear regions.
