Data from the world-wide network of neutron monitors used in determining the rigidity spectrum and spatial anisotropy of the ground-level event on May 7, 1978. The asymptotic directions of approach including non-vertical directions have been calculated at the event onset for 10 selected stations. The pitch-angle distribution is chosen to be Gaussian and symmetric about the direction of the interplanetary magnetic field.
