MR. NOLAN is correct in supposing that I made no numerical calculation
with regard to the inner satellites of Mars. I accept the calculation
which he gives, and admit that the present period of revolution of the
satellite cannot be regarded, as I supposed, as a memorial of the
primitive period of rotation of the planet.
