The TD model is presented (TD - stands for Total Density). The model describes the variations and distribution of the total density of the Earth's thermosphere in the region from 200 to 500 km. The properties of the model are compared to the DTM, C, CIRA 72 and CIRA 86 models. Its differences with respect to DTM and CIRA 86 are estimated over the whole ranges of the defining physical parameters.
