Venera-9 and Venera-10 measurements of Venusian IF thermal emissions revealed pronounced day-night asymmetry in the intensity of radiation emitted by Venusian upper cloud layers. The night-side radiation shows a brightness temperature of 244 K. The day-side mean brightness temperature is 233-234 K. The last value agrees closely with the freezing point of 66-77% sulfuric acid. Mariner-10 measurements are taken into consideration. Fine details in the IR brightness profiles are examined and periodicities are noted.
