Following the formalism developed in a preceding paper, the gravitational field is described by means of ten vector fields defined on the ten-dimensional manifold of the local inertial reference frames. These fields corresponds to ten operationally defined infinitesimal transformations. The gravitational field is coupled with a set of scalar fields on the ten-dimensional manifold which describe particles with arbitrary spin. There are three different choices of the action from which the gravitational-field equations are derived. In this way two different theories are obtained which are equivalent to the Einstein-Cartan metric-torsion theory and a theory which is equivalent to a scalar-metric-torsion theory of the kind studied by Aldersley. In the absence of spin angular momentum, the last theory can be reduced to the scalar-metric theory developed by Brans and Dicke. In this way a geometric interpretation of the scalar field introduced by Dirac, Jordan, Brans and Dicke is obtained.
