Two old novae observed by the International Ultraviolet Explorer (short and long wavelength regions) are discussed. Reddening was evaluated by the disappearance of the absorption feature at 2200 A. This determination permitted the evaluation of the UV fluxes and the fitting of the HR Dephini flux to an approximate 40,000 K blackbody curve and a power law for far UV wavelength. V 603 Aql is better fitted by two blackbody curves of about 50,000 K and 8000 K for far UV wavelengths. An evaluation of the total emitted energy is given. A P Cygni profile was found for the C 4 doublet in the HR Del spectrum and allows the determination of a minimum mass loss rate and provides some information on the nature of the stellar wind.
