The Cherenkov detector used at the Yakutsk complex EAS array for the
registration of Vavilov-Cherenkov light in extensive air showers from
superhigh energy cosmic rays is described. The calibration method is
shown. The method for the treatment of experimental data and results
obtained from the Yakutsk array using the above detector are given.
