MONS (Measuring Oscillations in Nearby Stars) is a Danish-led space mission to perform asteroseismology using high-precision photometry. The Third MONS Workshop (held at Aarhus University in January 2000) aimed at establishing a framework for the collaborations that will lead to the scientific utilization of the data from the MONS mission. Particular attention was given to the broad range of types of variable stars to be studied with the Star Trackers. Despite their modest size, the Star Trackers will provide data of a quality and continuity far surpassing what can be achieved from the ground, for a large number of stars. An important goal of the Workshop, and of these proceedings, is to present these possibilities and discuss in some detail how they can be applied to the study of different types of stars.
