In September 2004, we detected a supernova within the nuclear regions (r~500pc) of the Luminous Infrared Galaxy (LIRG) IRAS 18293-3413 using near-infrared adaptive optics on the VLT. Due to difficulties in securing follow-up time, the true nature of this object has yet to be determined. We propose to use the upgraded LBA at 2.3 GHz to monitor the late-time radio emission from this object which will tell us how stars evolve in the dense circumnuclear starburst environment.
