If the line-of-sight velocities of a large complete sample of galaxies brighter than a given apparent magnitude limit in a region of a cluster are known, then the number of field galaxies within + or 3 times the standard deviation of the mean velocity of the cluster can be estimated statistically. The method is applied to samples of galaxies in an outer region of the Coma cluster. It is estimated that the outer radius extends beyond 5 deg (8 Mpc for H = 75 km per sec per Mpc). If the observed space number density distribution between R = 1.7 deg and R = 5 deg is forced to fit a governing formula in terms of r as the distance of a point from the cluster center, then the exponent of r equals -2.7 + or - 0.8. However, the fit of the observational data to the formula is rather poor.
