A photometric study in the UBVr system was completed on the outer ring spiral galaxy NGC 4736. Photoelectric spot observations are combined with previous data in order to calibrate plates and obtain magnetude and color profiles. Isophote maps, derived from PDS scans of fourteen plates, are presented for each color at several resolution values. A prominent nuclear component, a possible lens, an exponential disk, and an outer ring were revealed. An inner ring of bright H (2) regions and OB associations is prominent. Isophotometry shows the galaxy to be quite azimuthally symmetric, with two faint arms appearing on the U, B, and V plates.
