Recent work on integrated optics (IO) at the Thomson-CSF Laboratoire Central de Recherches is summarized and illustrated, with a focus on circuits using LiNbO3 substrates. The devices described include an IO amplitude modulator based on interferometry, a version of this device adapted to digital/analog conversion, directional couplers for IO switching, and IO circuits for the fiber-optic rotation sensor based on Sagnac interferometry described by Arditty et al. (1983).
