The formation of the spatial structure of planetary nebulae with binary central stars is considered, and it is shown that the main structure (the area of increased density) can have the shape of an hour-glass or toroid. The peripheral structure (the less dense shell around the main structure) has the shape of an oblate spheroid. If the nebula is only partially ionized, then the shape of the observed peripheral structure can differ from that of the peripheral structure as a whole.
