Using the spectral synthesis method with the Holweger-Müller solar model atmosphere, the solar abundance of platinum is derived from an LTE analysis of the photospheric spectrum. The recent value of the oscillator strength, deduced from lifetime measurements is used. The authors obtain APt = 1.74 in the usual scale where log AH = 12.00.
