The mid-IR emission from low-luminosity AGN (LLAGN) has not been well studied at high angular resolution, despite potentially providing new constraints on the structure and physics of these objects. We have therefore acquired N band images of 17 nearby LLAGN at ˜0.35″ resolution. These galaxies show a diversity of nuclear morphologies and have a high mid-IR/X-ray luminosity ratio compared to higher-luminosity AGN. It is possible that ongoing star formation may be responsible for this mid-IR excess in at least some of the LLAGN in this sample.
