An earth-evolution model according to which the rheological properties of earth material are well described by a multicomponent-viscous-incompressible-fluid representation for periods of the order of several million years is discussed. Systems of nonlinear integrodifferential equations are derived for convection effects and effects associated with small-scale inhomogeneities in the core.
