We describe the Science Data Quality Assessment (SDQA) system for LSST. SDQA will be an assessment system that examines and reports on the quality of LSST data and derived products from a purely scientific perspective. While SDQA essentially supports the continuous testing of the performance of LSST at the integrated system level, the purpose of DQA is neither engineering quality assessment for LSST as a whole nor is it the characterization of the health and safety of instrument components. The key driver of SDQA planning and practices is therefore the question "can the data obtained support the science requirements of the LSST?"
