The rigidity dependence between about 0.5 and 30 GV of the large Forbush decreases which occurred on July 23, 1981, July 11, 1982, and February 6, 1986 is determined. Formulas are given for the rigidity dependence of the three events for P between 2 and 30 GV. The magnitude of the decreases for the 1981 and 1982 events is rigidity-independent for P between 0.5 and 2 GV. The 1986 decrease appeared to be rigidity-independent below about 1 GV. The recovery time of the decreases was not strongly rigidity-dependent. These results are discussed in the context of proposed models.
