Concerned with the estimating method of the image position of the division line and with the systematic errors resulted from the optics, mechanics and the electronics, the repeatabilities of the circle reading is studied. By means of analysing the residuals of the measurements, the authors find out some main problems which influence the reading repeatabilities. After the adjustments and improvements of the micrometers the mean value of the repeatabilities of 6 micrometers is obtained as 0″022.
