The glass-ceramic method is applied to produce fine titanomagnetite particles precipitated in a silicate matrix in the magnetically interesting grain size range from submicron to tens of microns. Samples are characterized by reflected light and electron microscopy (SEM), microprobe analysis, X-ray and thermomagnetic measurements. These confirm that well crystallized pure titanomagnetites are homogeneously dispersed throughout the samples.
