The Local Bubble is generally presumed to be a hot superbubble generated by stellar winds and supernovae. Superbubbles are common in star-forming galaxies, and while their origin from massive star feedback is generally accepted, their dominant physical processes and evolution still remain to be quantitatively confirmed. This paper reviews the status of our understanding on the most important issue, the energy budget for superbubbles.
