An analysis is made of the degree of agreement between a method for the prediction of ionospheric disturbances based on ground-based magnetic-field diagnostics and a model of disturbance-related variations of ionospheric parameters for low-latitude conditions (the ionosphere above Cuba being considered here). An examination of a large body of experimental data shows that the prediction method considered here can be applied to short-term ionospheric prediction at low latitudes with satisfactory accuracy.
