2811 visual binaries with main components of luminosity class V have been studied taking into account observational selection effects. The initial mass function for the main components can be represented by a power law with n = -1.55±0.21. The distribution over the mass ratio q for 0.4 ≤ q ≤ 1 can be described as dN/dq ≡ q-2.35, what for the fixed mass of primaries is close to the Salpeter law for secondaries. The initial distribution over the semimajor axis a for 4 ≤ lg(a/R_sun;) ≤ 6 is dN ≈ (0.2 - 0.4) dlg a. This coincides practically with the distribution over a for spectroscopic binaries.
