The sky brightness distribution is the inverse Fourier transform of the
complex degree of coherence, i.e., a complete noiseless set of complex
correlation measurements. In practice these measurements are incomplete
and subject to error. The present paper reviews direct and indirect
methods for dealing with this problem.
