The excitation temperature of the solar photosphere is determined from the lines of the even-odd and odd-even transitions of Ni I. Mean values of excitation temperature thus determined are 4850 K for even-odd and 5600 K for odd-even transitions, while the mean value determined from lines of both transitions is 5100 K. A curve of growth is constructed for the solar disk from 229 Ni I lines in the Milne-Eddington approximation from even-odd, odd-even, and both transitions.
