Seventeen single-prism spectrograms of the star phi Aquilae form the
basis of the determination of its spectroscopic orbit. Its type is A2
and its spectrum contains several lines suitable for measurement, the
probable error of a plate being /-1.6 km. per sec. The period is 3.3204
days and eccentricity .055.
