Most new faculty come to teaching with much less experience and training than they have for research. If you're just starting out, the New Faculty Teaching Conference can be just what you need to jump-start our teaching. This short workshop, run by the APS, the AAS, and the AAPT, is a whirlwind introduction to some excellent, practical, and field tested teaching methods.
I attended the first New Faculty Teaching Conference in 1996. Techniques I learned there improved my teaching in many ways, and opened my eyes to the world of physics education research. It was a real help in establishing a successful teaching record, and continues to affect my teaching today.
