The numerically tractable nature of the solution to the multiple scattering problem in a half-space previously published by the authors (Bergeat and Rutily, 1987) is shown. In those three previously published papers, the half-plane problem for the multiple scattering of photons was solved by summing the Neumann series of the radiative field. Although the method is more complicated than either the Wiener-Hopf technique or the method of singular eigenfunctions, it does yield information about the diffuse field and the field scattered n-times (for n equal to or greater than 1), which is not readily ascertainable by other means. The simplicity of the results which were obtained is emphasized here. In one of the publications, some effort was made to present the radiation-field formulas in readily usable form for numerical applications. In order to clarify the methodology, the use made of the obtained formulas is described for diffuse-field calculations using a desktop microcomputer. In addition, new developments are presented based on the physical interpretation of the previously introduced eta-function.
