The non-linear parametric resonance is proposed to understand the reason why the observed electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves in the auroral energization region are usually concentrated in the range close to the half value of the proton gyrofrequency. The electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves are supposed to exist already at ωcH+.
