Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere (MLT) winds have now been continuously measured from space for 15 years. The High Resolution Doppler Imager (HRDI) and Wind Imaging Interferometer (WINDII) instruments on UARS commenced operation in late 1991 with HRDI operating until March 2005. The TIDI instrument on TIMED started collecting wind data in 2002 and is still operating in late 2006. There is a three year overlap between HRDI and TIDI measurements allowing the instruments to be cross-calibrated. This data record has covered the declining phase of solar cycles 22 and 23. This paper will examine the wind field for these two periods, looking at similarities and differences as well as correlating the dynamics with phenomena such as solar cycle variations and the QBO.
