NGC 5128 is a giant elliptical galaxy less than 4 Mpc away providing a unique opportunity to study its stellar population in great detail. We have obtained high signal-to-noise spectroscopy from Gemini/GMOS for over 80 globular clusters within this merger remnant to obtain their ages, metallicities, and alpha-to-iron abundance ratios. Our results indicate that both blue and red globular clusters formed primordially followed by a second burst of red globular cluster formation at much lower redshift. The spectroscopic metallicity distribution is multi-modal and the globular clusters have a wide spread in alpha-enhancement. These results indicate that NGC 5128 likely formed as a massive seed galaxy, followed by smaller mergers in its group environment.
