As a complement to the exquisite data on the Cosmic Microwave Background, an independent measurement of the Hubble Constant would provide a valuable constraint on the equation of state of dark energy. The Megamaser Cosmology Project aims to determine a precise value of the Hubble Constant by measuring angular diameter distances to galaxies in the Hubble flow, using the maser distance method pioneered on NGC 4258. Determining a distance requires both sensitive VLBI mapping of the maser disk and total-power monitoring to measure accelerations of the gas as it orbits the central black hole. Here we report results on the maser in the Seyfert 2 galaxy UGC 3789, the first galaxy in the Hubble flow with a distance determined by the maser technique. With a recession velocity of 3325 km/s, the galaxy has an expected distance of about 46 Mpc. Its maser was discovered by Braatz and Gugliucci (2008) and mapped using VLBI (Reid et al. 2009) to reveal an edge-on maser disk 0.3 pc in radius. We have been monitoring the maser with the GBT for three years to measure accelerations. We present the GBT monitoring data, modeling of the maser disk, and a distance to the galaxy based on these data.
