An advanced radioheliograph, which has high time- and space-resolution for solar radioburst studies, together with a flexible on-line data processing system, is described. Though the device presently produces one-dimensional images at 169 MHz, an adaptation is planned to provide two-dimensional images with a minimum rate of 10 pictures per sec. Fringe stopping and grating response calibrations are reported. Radiobursts as narrow as 0.7 minute, as well as motions in noise storms with a velocity on the order of 5000 km/sec, have been observed with the device.
