Venera 13, 14 as well as Venera 11, 12 evidence for a low-frequency electromagnetic field in the Venus atmosphere and for the height profile of the field strength is analyzed. The refraction of electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere has been calculated. Comparison of all available data against the calculation does not rule out the possibility of an electrical-discharge source being located beneath the cloud deck.
