We present a statistical study of non-radial expansion of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) seen beyond a few solar radii off the solar limb. By observing 50 such events with SOHO/LASCO, between 1997 and 2000, we determine the non-radial evolution and the angular extent of a CME. We find the extent of non-radial expansions is 1.84° +/- 0.12°. We discuss the pressure balance in CMEs in the context of these results.
