2131 Mayall was previously observed by Warner as part of an ongoing study at the Palmer Divide Observatory of the Hungaria group and family. Observations were made again in mid-2006 in order to add to the data set for the asteroid, the aim being eventually to derive a spin axis and shape model. The size and previously found rotation period, ~8 km and 2.5 hr, also made the asteroid a potential binary candidate. The data from 2006 did not show any signs of occultation or eclipse events that would indicate the asteroid is binary.
