A space-time model with the classical domain D-lambda(1,4) is established based on the principle of relativity and the local constancy of the speed of light. The kinematic effect is discussed, and the frequency shift of the spectral line is calculated. Assuming uniform distribution, the results are compared with observational data on the quasar N-Z relation. The present results suggest that the large redshift in extragalactic objects is perhaps not caused mainly by the Doppler effect, but to a large extent is a distance effect.
