Features characterizing terminator-related gravity waves in the F-region are investigated on the basis of Alma-Ata ionograms obtained over a number of years. The statistical analysis of records of diurnal variations of the F-layer critical frequency shows a significant intensification of ionospheric wave disturbances in morning and evening hours. This may indicate that the solar terminator has a significant effect on dynamic processes in the upper atmosphere.
