HgCdTe photovoltaic arrays exhibit crosstalk due to such factors as the presence of surface channels. A calculation is presented of the crosstalk caused by carrier diffusion through a surface channel under an applied voltage. Crosstalk is found to decrease with increasing majority charge concentration; also, the longer the elements connected by the channel, the greater the variation in crosstalk. For low and high majority charge concentrations, the crosstalk variation tends to diminish due to the concentration dependence of both charge lifetime and mobility.
