Physics Of Stars, Stellar Systems, Manganese: Line Profiles

The synthetic profiles of the MnI 5394.7 Å spectral line for several hypothetical stars with different effective temperature are calculated. The hyperfine structure of the manganese line is taken into account. The parameters (equivalent width, central depth and full width at half maximum) of these line profiles are determined. The change of the MnI 5394.7 Å line profile parameters with effective temperature and temperature gradients are evaluated. Using these gradients, the temperature sensitivity of the MnI 5394.7 Å line parameters for the solar effective temperature is determined and compared with the corresponding observed values.
