Earth Ionosphere: Solar-Terrestrial Relations
Scientific paper
A quasi-analytic theory is developed for the propagation of low-frequency waves (0.5 - 10 kHz) in the Earth-ionosphere duct. Considered in the theory are: the height-dependence of the duct conductivity, anisotropy of the near-Earth plasma and the transformation and interaction of waves of differing polarizations. Use of the quasi-analytic approach permits an explicit representation of the action of various disturbing factors on the characteristics of the propagating waves.
