Laboratory experiments were performed in a wind-water-wave channel to determine the effect of free surface conditions on the surface fluxes under near neutral stability conditions. The surface conditions used were pure wind-generated waves, mechanically generated swells plus wind waves, and a suppressed surface, while the wind velocity was varied from 3.5 to 11 m/sec. The effect of interfacial conditions on the surface fluxes and the dimensionless humidity and temperature gradients was qualitatively demonstrated.
