The prebiotic molecule H2NCH2CN (aminoacetonitrile, AAN) is, chemically speaking, a direct precursor of the simplest amino acid glycine. While the interstellar detection of glycine, claimed a few years ago, has been unequivocally rebutted, there is good evidence that we have identified several AAN lines in our new line survey of Sgr B2-LMH done with the IRAM 30m telescope. However, given the confusion situation, the only way to prove this convincingly is to interferometrically show that all the candidate lines are arising from the same location. This is the purpose of the present proposal. A definitive identification of AAN would be an important step in the quest to finally find an aminoacid in the interstellar medium.
