Telescopes: Mounts
Scientific paper
The authors present a contemporary concept for large telescopes, which allows to track either in the alt-azimuth or parallactic mode by software selection. This HPT concept reduces the mass of any telescope to its essentials, diminishes thermal pollution, avoids field rotation and allows trouble free polarisation observations, while providing simultaneously the possibility of a three of four mirror Coudé.
